Deepcut Neighbourhood Forum “shock” at Councils removal of Princess Royal Barracks from Neighbourhood Area – Podcast

PRBPaul Chapman talks to Paul Matthews who is the Project Manager of the Deepcut Neighbourhood Forum (DNF).

The purpose of the DNF is explained by Paul Matthews and he expresses the DNF’s “shock” at the councils removal of Princess Royal Barracks from the Neighbourhood Plan.

Paul Matthews believes that “If more councils follow the example set by Surrey Heath Borough Council and use the Daws Hill judgement to stop local communities having planning power over their localities then we are seeing the start of the slow death of localism in our country”.

Deepcut Neighbourhood Forum – Notice of Annual General Meeting

A letter to Deepcut Neighbourhood Forum Members

Dear All

At the meeting last week it was pointed out that we need to hold an AGM before the end of the month to comply with our constitution. We need to give a minimum of 14 days notice.

Howard has managed to get the DVC meeting room booked for 7.30 pm Sunday 23rd June. I hope everyone can make this. Apologies for the short notice but we needed to act fast so as not be held unconstitutional. To those who aren’t technically members but play a role ie Susan and Angela, you are also invited but remember you won’t be able to vote.

Can anyone who doesn’t want to remain a committee member please let me know in advance of the meeting. Otherwise, we will assume you wish to carry on. If you wish to remain on the committee but can’t make the meeting you can still be re-elected in absentia. We will need a Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, so please put yourself forward!

For those who weren’t on the mailing list the message was:

Deepcut Neighbourhood Forum – Notice of Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the first Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday 23rd June at 7.30pm at the Deepcut Village Centre.

All members and prospective members are cordially invited to attend. Please note – in order to become a Forum member you need to either reside, work or carry on business in Deepcut.

The agenda for this meeting is as follows:

  • Report on Forum activities to date
  • Questions from members to the Committee
  • Treasurers report for the year ended 31st March 2013
  • Election/Re-election of a Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary and committee members
  • Members vote to authorise the committee to develop a neighbourhood plan for Deepcut
  • Any other business

We look forward to meeting you and answering your questions on neighbourhood planning. New committee members welcome!
