In response to the recent traveller incursion on Heatherside recreation ground, Surrey Heath Borough council will be adding to the existing security measures in an attempt to avoid a similar situation happening again. These include extra “dragons teeth” barriers or “kissing gates” to stop vehicles accessing the park via the footpaths , replacing some of the bollards with stronger, thicker versions and adding extra bollards in the gap next to the toilet block.
The council is keen to stress that, even with these new measures in place, making the site completely incursion proof without significantly compromising the park’s aesthetics and accessibility to the public is extremely difficult. However, these extra measure should go some way in discouraging any future incursion attempts.
Operatives have attended the site today and made a start on the large number of fly tips around the edges of both playing fields. Initial rough estimates are that there could be as much as 25 tonnes of debris and rubbish left by the travellers. This consists of a large amount of garden waste from landscape gardening works undertaken by the travellers as well as building rubble and other commercial type waste. I have posted a video on my facebook page which shows the extent of the flytips and rubbish at www.facebook.com/DeepcutDeach
There is also a lot litter and rubbish sacks to be cleared away and that phase of the clean up operation begins early tomorrow morning.
I would like to appeal to local residents to stay away from the two fields that were occupied by the Travellers until council operatives have had chance to clear away the debris, some of which could be potentially hazardous.
This is an audio podcast taken from my live broadcast from the Heatherside Recreation Ground immediately after the travellers had departed.

“We are aware of a traveller incursion on open space at Heatherside.
A number of council officers and police attended the site over the weekend.
We are continuing to monitor the site and are working closely with Surrey Police.
Officers will be visiting the site again today (Monday 15th June) for routine checks and will be serving notice within the next 24 hours requiring the travellers to leave within a reasonable time”.

The top Model (www.topmodeluk.com) professional model search competition is now in its 9th hugely successful year and in 2011 expanded in to the international market with Top model worldwide http://www.topmodelworldwide.com). The current 2015 competitions will reach their climax at the Hilton London Metropole Grand Finals on March 13th and 14th 2015 with over 4,000 entries having been received and with over 160 finalists from across the UK, and globally, competing in six main show categories.
The Top Model competitions are not beauty pageants but pride themselves on their pure model search ethos, all of the top prizes and opportunities for the finalists and award winners being focused on the fashion and model industries. The grand finalist selections and the eventual awards are all decided by industry experts, not by public voting, with the finalists walking in a professionally produced international runway show finals.
A whole host of major awards and prizes are once again up for grabs in 2015 with the prize listing being regularly added to and updated. The prizes will include; International Travel, Beauty Products, Goodie Bags, Professional Photographic Shoots, Free Styling & Hair Cuts, Spa Breaks, London Fashion Week opportunities, and much much more! Details can be found at www.topmodeluk.com and www.topmodelworldwide.com .
In addition to the model finalists themselves, a stunning line-up of Designers grace the Top Model runway each year, dressing our finalists as an integral part of the Grand Final show weekend.
Applications are accepted over a five month period between August and December each year as part of a UK and international wide search for the best new up-and-coming model talent.
In addition to Top Model being a major UK and International model search, each year Top Model adopts a chosen charity to raise awareness for and to support. For 2015, Top Model will once again be supporting childhood cancer charity CHILDREN with CANCER UK www.childrenwithcancer.org.uk. In 2014 Top Model raised over £16,000 for the charity and we hope to beat this total in 2015. Top Model has raised over £60,000 for the charity since adopting them in 2010.
