In response to a comment made on ITV’s This Morning about Camberley being a potential target for terrorism we would like to reassure the public that we have no specific information to suggest there is a risk to the town.
We would also like to make it clear that it is particularly unhelpful for people to share speculative comments and rumours online which can cause unnecessary fear and worry.
Camberley is no more a threat than anywhere else in the country and members of the public should go about their normal business while taking all the usual security precautions.
It’s important that everyone remains vigilant and reports any suspicious behaviour or activity straight away.
Anyone who spots anything should call the confidential anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321 or 999 in an emergency.
No call is a waste of time. If you suspect it, report it.
If you see anything suspicious or have any questions or concerns please visit our Counter Terrorism page for further information.
