Strap yourself in for the return of The Camberley Car Show, on Saturday 22 August, there is a bigger and better collection of classic and vintage cars, motorbikes than ever before and even live acts to keep you entertained throughout the day. Last year the show saw thousands of visitors pull up to Camberley Town Centre to see the eclectic array of vehicles and join in the free family fun day. From 10am to 4pm, The Camberley Car Show offers the chance of a fantastic day for motor-heads and visitors alike don’t miss out.
The Camberley Car Show was initially created in 2012 to fundraise and give support for the South West Thames Kidney Fund. Extremely generous visitor donations over the last 4 years have improved quality of life for those who so desperately need it. Created in partnership by the towns’ Business Improvement District (BID) Collectively Camberley Ltd and local car enthusiast, Ken Bonner, The Camberley Car Show attracts tens of thousands of visitors from all across the UK. BID Manager, Lucy Boazman said
‘Year on year, the show has involved and is now one of the biggest car shows in the South. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase the very best of Camberley Town Centre whilst raising awareness for the charity. It also provides a fantastic platform for the towns businesses, which fund the show, to promote themselves to thousands of new visitors.’
This year the BID team have secured an exclusive exhibition from The Bloodhound: attempting to break the World land speed record, this jet and rocket powered car designed to reach speeds of 1,000 mph. The iconic F1 six wheel Tyrrell P34 will also be within the amazing variety of cars. The show has even attracted the attention of Chris Evans, the new host of BBC 2 Top Gear, who is loaning the town his original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Another one of the big names attending Camberley Car Show this year is the Brooklands Museum Trust. Brooklands Museum Trust is an independent charitable trust which aims to preserve and interpret the heritage of Brooklands – the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit, constructed at Weybridge, Surrey, in 1907. Recognisable classic cars will be positioned all across the Town Centre. Jaguar’s, Lotus’, among many more of your favourite names in the motoring industry. Miss Boazman continued

In addition to the exceptional list of classic and vintage cars, Edd China from Discovery Channel’s “Wheeler Dealers” will be making an appearance during the show, plus local charity ‘Sporting Bears’ will be offering passenger rides in luxury sports cars such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis. In addition to all of this, there will also be plenty of live music a free face painting and entertainers to keep the little racers happy too. Programmes will be available on the day for a small donation to let you know what will be happening throughout the event.
The Camberley Car Show is a free event funded by all businesses within the towns Business Improvement District.
