A number of roads remain closed in the vicinity whilst the firefighting operation continues, including:
- Mytchett Place Road
- Gapemouth Road
- Stanley Hill Grange Road
Guildford Neighbourhood Inspector Graham Barnett, said: “I appreciate this incident has caused considerable local disruption and I would like to thank the local residents for their understanding.
“I would like to reassure the local communities that we are working closely with our colleagues in the fire service to re-open roads and keep the impact on local communities to a minimum.”
Detective Constable David Jones, said: “An investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing and I would appeal to any witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.
“Any information, however small it may seem, could prove vital in bringing those responsible for this devastating fire to justice.”

*A 33-year-old man from Ash Vale has been arrested on suspicion of arson. He has been released on bail until 30 May whilst enquiries are continuing.
