Padding Required for Epilepsy Society

Dan Adams - Padding RequiredTraining has begun in earnest for Surrey’s Dan Adams as he gears up for a 60-mile charity cycle ride for people with epilepsy.

Dan, of Camberley, said: ‘Epilepsy is close to my heart as it is in my family and I have friends with the condition. One in every hundred people in the UK has epilepsy and the unpredictable nature of seizures can make life difficult.

‘I’ve recently turned 40 and, although it’s been said that this may be a mid-life crisis, I feel the need to challenge myself and to raise awareness of this often stigmatised condition. ‘

He continued: ‘I’m not a keen cyclist, nor a great lover of exercise, but I’m now training myself for the challenge of riding 60 miles from Camberley in Surrey to Worthing in West Sussex on 4 October. ‘

Dan is hoping to raise £1,000 for Epilepsy Society and can be sponsored at  http://www.justgiving.com/paddingrequired or to donate £5, simply text DANA74 £5 to 70070.

He is urging people to keep up with his training progress and follow him on the day of the ride on Twitter @paddingrequired.
