The flag is a sign to the public that the space is well-managed, beautifully maintained and offers excellent facilities.
Owned by Surrey Heath Borough Council, the 24 hectare park attracts a large number of visitors with its picnic areas, Pistachios in the Park café, pitch and putt course, children’s playgrounds, miniature railway and barbecue and private hire areas.
Surrey Heath’s portfolio holder for green spaces Cllr Craig Fennell said: “To receive the green flag for 14 years in a row is a wonderful accolade. Well done to our Greenspace team, dedicated volunteers and our contractors who work hard to look after a fantastic place for everyone to enjoy.
“It comes at a very fitting time as we’ve recently given the green-light to a new full sized 3G football pitch, scheduled to open later this year!”
The flag was recently unveiled on one of the parks football pitches by Surrey Heath’s green space team together withRob Procner, contracts manager for the council’s contractor Glendale.
